Ruralco has appointed the co-operative’s GM People and Culture, Tony Aitken as its Group CEO.
Following the resignation of former CEO Robert Sharkie last month, Ruralco’s Board of Directors initially appointed Tony as Acting CEO and this week agreed to appoint Tony to the CEO role for a fixed term contract of 18 months.
Ruralco Chair, Sir David Carter says the Board is very pleased to make the appointment and feel Tony’s skill set will be a good fit for the co-operative, and that it provides continued stability to the business going forward.
Tony has a strong background in people leadership and was part of Synlait’s journey as it grew from 140 staff to over 1000. His fixed term position as Group CEO becomes effective immediately.
